Mere joy

the choice not to despair;

to answer dis-ease with ease

(or, at least, grace)

hope for hopelessness

light for dark

something for nothing

being for not-being

Simple and easy

when measured

by chaos or

impossibility

Complicated, sometimes,

by circumstance or pride

or fear, or carelessness

The choosing,

so often so much more important

than the choice
