Do Not Be Afraid
Easier said than done
Even when the women knew
they were caught in fear and great joy
Even when we know the truth
we are caught in fear and great joy
Even as we try to live by this truth
we are caught in fear and great joy
Every time we hear these words
we are caught in fear and great joy
So on this day of all days
when we are told again
“do not be afraid”
may our great joy
so overcome our fears
that we might live as
a people not afraid
that we might share this
“do not be afraid”
with a world caught in fear
that they may know our great joy
